Relief Supplies Distributed to Over 500 Flood-Hit Families in Northwestern Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, October 5, 2026 —
Governor of Battambang province H.E. Sok Lou on Monday distributed emergency relief packages to over 500 households hit by flash floods across two Sangkats (communes) in Battambang city, local authorities said.
The relief initiative brought vital food supplies to 270 vulnerable and flood-affected families in Sangkat Ochar and an additional 259 families in Sangkat Omal. The assistance was donated by Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, alongside Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Thipadei Hun Manet and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, with logistical support facilitated through the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.
During the distribution events, Governor Sok Lou expressed deep sympathy for the affected residents and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to supporting communities displaced or impacted by seasonal heavy rains.
In a related support effort on the same day, the Provincial Administration received 500 cartons of instant noodles donated by Pruonh Ritha, Director of Battambang Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, together with his spouse and departmental staff, to reinforce ongoing provincial flood response operations.
