The biannual phenomenon showcases the remarkable alignment of natural solar cycles with ancient Khmer architectural precision.

Despite heavy cloud cover preventing a clear view of the sun cresting the main spire of Angkor Wat, visitors remained enthusiastic, capturing the unique atmosphere of the historic site.

Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak attended the event alongside local officials and foreign visitors, underscoring the Royal Government’s commitment to promoting Cambodia's cultural heritage and boosting global tourism.

The Angkor Equinox, a natural phenomenon in which the sun rises directly above the central tower of Angkor Wat Temple, creates a striking visual spectacle that reflects the advanced knowledge and precision of Khmer ancestors, demonstrating their ability to integrate astronomical science seamlessly with architectural design.

The phenomenon occurs twice annually: during the vernal equinox from Mar. 21 to 23 and the autumnal equinox from Sept. 21 to 23.
