PM Encourages Local Entrepreneurs to Use Digital Technology to Boost Product Quality and Expand Domestic and International Markets
AKP Phnom Penh, June 27, 2026 --
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has encouraged micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to embrace the use of digital technology to enhance product quality, improve business management, increase consumer confidence and expand the competitiveness of Cambodian products in both domestic and international markets.
In a message congratulating the 3rd National Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (June 27), the Premier stated that supporting local products is an important driving force for strengthening the national economy along with support from the Royal Government, citizens and development partners, while enterprises must also develop themselves in line with the development of new technologies.
Samdech Thipadei highlighted that improving product and service quality, developing packaging, building brands, professional business management and using digital technology to assist in production, marketing and business data analysis are key factors for increasing productivity and paving the way for Cambodian products to compete better.
The message stated that in the era of the digital economy, the use of modern technology can help enterprises reduce costs, increase production efficiency, improve service quality, and respond to customer needs more quickly, which is the basis for expanding markets both domestically and internationally.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei called on micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises to pay attention to legality, compliance, and implementation of the national quality infrastructure system, which includes standards, regulations, conformity assessment, and national laboratories, to ensure quality and increase market confidence in Cambodian products.
Samdech Thipadei emphasised that the combination of supporting local products and using new technologies will help Cambodian enterprises increase their competitiveness, create jobs, increase income, and reduce their dependence on imports, while helping to promote strong and sustainable national economic development.
In addition, the Royal Government has continued to introduce several support mechanisms for micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises, including promoting digitalisation, supporting financing, developing skills, and building a business ecosystem so that enterprises can use modern technology as a tool to increase added value and promote the growth of “Made in Cambodia” products to the global market, underlined the Prime Minister.
