Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark for her warm birthday greetings and for the honour bestowed upon her by the Olave Baden-Powell Society.

In a recent royal message from her Royal Residence in Beijing, the Queen Mother thanked Princess Benedikte for her thoughtful letter of June 18 conveying congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of her birthday anniversary.

Her Majesty also expressed her deep appreciation for receiving the Champions Award from the Olave Baden-Powell Society, which is under the patronage of Princess Benedikte.

“I very much admire and support the noble activities of the Society to help the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts' associations worldwide,” the Queen Mother wrote.

The Queen Mother further conveyed her concern for Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark, noting that she had learned of the former monarch’s recent illness.

Recalling their meeting during Queen Margrethe’s visit to Cambodia in the 1960s, Her Majesty asked Princess Benedikte to convey her personal wishes for Queen Margrethe’s prompt recovery and continued good health.
