Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan have extended their warm congratulations and best wishes to Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk on the occasion of her 90th birthday (June 18), praising her longstanding contributions to China-Cambodia friendship.

In their recent message, President Xi and Madam Peng highlighted the Queen Mother’s decades of dedication to the cause of friendship between the two countries.

“As a witness and promoter of our two countries' ironclad bond, you have made significant contributions to promoting China-Cambodia relations and the friendship between our peoples--contributions that were rightly recognised with the Friendship Medal of the People's Republic of China in 2020,” they stressed.

The Chinese leaders also expressed their deep appreciation for the special friendship with the Cambodian Royal Family and conveyed their concern for the health and well-being of Her Majesty and His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni.

“We are truly heartened to learn that Your Majesty and King Norodom Sihamoni are recovering steadily and well in Beijing,” the message stated, adding that China would continue to provide the best medical care for their check-ups and recuperation in China.

Reaffirming China’s commitment to its relationship with Cambodia, President Xi and Madam Peng said China stands ready to work closely with the Kingdom to build a deeper and more substantive all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era, bringing greater benefits to both peoples.

The message concluded with wishes for the Queen Mother’s long life, good health, and continued happiness.
