Acting Head of State Reminds Loal Authorities of Key Local Issues
AKP Phnom Penh, June 12, 2026 -- Public services, land dispute resolution, natural resource protection, local security, and the welfare of soldiers' families on the frontline were among the key issues highlighted by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, during a meeting with local officials in Pailin and Battambang provinces this morning.
According to H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate, these issues formed the main agenda of Samdech Techo Hun Sen's discussions with approximately 1,000 members of provincial, city, district, commune, and Sangkat councils, as well as leaders of various departments and institutions from Battambang and Pailin provinces.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reminded all local officials, particularly commune and Sangkat council members, to continue fulfilling their duties and responsibilities in serving the nation and the people. He stressed the importance of providing citizens with necessary public services promptly, efficiently, and effectively.
The Acting Head of State also instructed local authorities to pay close attention to the well-being of the families of soldiers stationed on the front lines to safeguard the country's territorial integrity, as well as to the families of fallen soldiers and veterans. He underscored the heroism and immense contributions of those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the motherland.
Samdech Techo further urged all local authorities to focus on resolving land disputes, strengthening the protection and conservation of natural resources, preventing crimes related to natural resources, maintaining national stability, and ensuring social security.
He also reminded officials to avoid negligence and any form of oppression, emphasising that public officials are not masters of the people but rather their loyal servants.
