Prahok Making Season This Year Falls on Dec. 25-31
AKP Phnom Penh, December 23, 2025 --
The Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries has announced that the best time to make Cambodia’s traditional fermented fish (locally called Prahok) and dried fish will fall from Dec. 25 to 31, 2025.
The Fisheries Administration encouraged Cambodians to start making fermented and dried fish during the said period.
The notification followed the observation of increasing fish in the Tonle Sap River, especially in Phnom Penh and Kandal province.
The fisheries administration also called on concerned authorities at all levels to help facilitate the production of fermented and dried fish.
