AKP Phnom Penh, December 12, 2025 --

The General Department of Immigration (GDI) of the Ministry of Interior has informed all diplomatic missions accredited to Cambodia, as well as all foreign nationals residing, working, or conducting business in the Kingdom, about the current situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border and issued two precautionary recommendations.

According to the GDI, Thai military forces have carried out attacks using various weapons, including aerial and artillery bombardments, targeting multiple locations within Cambodian territory in the provinces of Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat. These attacks have caused damage to residential areas, resulted in casualties among innocent civilians, and destroyed houses, schools, medical facilities, temples, religious monuments, ancient shrines, and other public infrastructure.

With a view to ensuring the safety and security of all foreign nationals residing, working, or doing business in the Kingdom of Cambodia, the General Department of Immigration wishes to recommend the following precautionary measures:

1. Diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia are kindly requested to advise their citizens to refrain from travelling to areas currently affected by border tensions and ongoing armed conflict.

2. Foreign nationals residing, working, or doing business in the border provinces who have been affected by the recent armed attacks by Thai forces are requested to report any incidents or relevant information to the GDI’s Hotline Team through the following contact channels:
