Cambodian and Malaysian Parliamentary Leaders Strengthen Cooperation

Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, met here on Mar. 25 with Hon. Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Johari bin Abdul, Speaker of Malaysia’s House of Representatives.
During the meeting at the National Assembly Palace, Samdech Khuon Sudary noted the close ties of friendship, cooperation, and people-to-people ties between Cambodia and Malaysia as well as the bonds between legislative bodies.
She said the Iftar dinner hosted by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on Monday was a symbol of solidarity between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in Cambodia and abroad.
Tan Sri Dato’ Johari congratulated Cambodia for organising the dinner, which brought together more than 6,000 Muslims and non-Muslims from across the region.
“I spoke to some participants who travelled from afar to see the Prime Minister. They admire him greatly, referring to him as a young and inspiring leader,” he said.
The Malaysian Speaker praised Cambodia's leadership and its resilience through hardships, noting the people's commitment to coexistence and freedom.
Tan Sri Dato’ Johari stressed the importance of continued collaboration and sharing of ideas among parliamentarians, especially the training of young people as future leaders and promptly addressing misunderstandings to ensure a bright future.
He also said that ASEAN was blessed by hardworking people contributing to its success as other parts of the world face challenges.
