AKP Phnom Penh, March 14, 2025 —
The Conservation International (CI) Organisation and the Royal Government of Cambodia are collaborating to support the Prey Lang community in developing sustainable livelihood strategies while preserving the natural resources they depend on.
The Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the last and largest lowland forests in Southeast Asia, is a critical ecosystem in the region.
According to a statement released by the CI Organisation on Mar. 13 afternoon, CI Cambodia, in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia and key stakeholders, is working to empower the Prey Lang community. The initiative aims to create sustainable livelihood methods while ensuring the protection of the natural resources essential to their survival.
This collaborative conservation effort also includes innovative financial solutions designed to safeguard vital resources for both present and future generations. Through investments in conservation within this wildlife sanctuary, the initiative seeks to secure a future where humans and nature can coexist harmoniously for generations to come.
The Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary represents one of the most significant lowland forest ecosystems in Southeast Asia, making its preservation crucial for biodiversity and environmental sustainability. The partnership underscores the importance of balancing community development with ecological conservation, ensuring that both people and nature thrive together.
