Bokor Mountain Strawberry Farm Blooms as Tourist Magnet
AKP Kampot, March 13, 2025 --
A strawberry farm atop Bokor Mountain is proving to be a sweet success, drawing crowds of tourists and boosting the region's appeal.
What began as an experimental project in 2023 has blossomed into a key attraction within Preah Monivong Bokor National Park.
"We've turned our research into a thriving farm," said General Manager Mr. Kim Moung. "Our South Korean-imported plants are yielding delicious strawberries, and visitors are loving it."
The half-hectare farm, now open to the public for a US$1 entry fee, harvests 15-20 kilogrammes of strawberries daily. While seedlings take months to produce fruit, grafted plants offer a quicker turnaround, attracting both domestic and international visitors.
"Weekdays see 20-30 visitors, but weekends explode with 400-500," Mr. Kim Moung added.
Mr. Say Sinol, Director of the Kampot Provincial Tourism Department, emphasised the farm's unique draw. "Strawberries are a rare treat here. Tourists are eager to taste them, see how they're grown, and experience something different," he said.
The Bokor Mountain strawberry farm is now a must-see, solidifying Kampot's reputation as a growing tourist hotspot.
