The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) delegation discussed the progress of Cambodia’s demining activities.

H.E. Heng Ratana, CMAC Director General, hosted the discussion with Mrs. Eri Komukai, Senior Advisor to the JICA at Tokyo Headquarters, at CMAC headquarters on Feb. 10.

The JICA delegation appreciated the progress made and confirmed the government of Japan's stand to continue supporting the humanitarian activities in Cambodia.

According to CMAC, JICA's support so far mainly focused on strengthening human resources, technical equipment provision, and sharing Cambodia's demining experiences with Ukraine, Colombia, and five countries in Africa.

The agency also supports the implementation of new projects on research and development for the application of new digital technology in demining activities and to supply necessary demining equipment.
