Cambodia’s Exports Hit over US$20 Billion in First Seven Months
AKP Phnom Penh, August 10, 2026 --
Cambodia’s exports reached US$20.81 billion in the first seven months of 2026, marking a 21.3 percent increase from US$17.16 billion during the same period last year, according to a report released by the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) on Aug. 10.
The United States remained Cambodia’s largest export market during the January-June period, with shipments valued at US$9.04 billion, accounting for more than 43.5 percent of the country’s total exports.
Vietnam ranked as the second-largest destination for Cambodian exports, importing goods worth US$2.73 billion, followed by China at US$1.1 billion.
Japan and Canada also remained important markets, receiving exports valued at US$1.08 billion and US$804.1 million, respectively.
Cambodia’s main export products include garments, machinery, electrical equipment, footwear, leather goods, grain, furniture, rubber, fruits, vegetables, pearls, toys and textiles.
Mr. Lim Heng, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, said Cambodia’s participation in major regional and bilateral trade agreements had supported the country’s export growth, citing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), as well as free trade agreements with China, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Lim Heng said these agreements have helped expand market access for Cambodian products and supported export performance despite continued global economic and security uncertainties.
Meanwhile, Cambodia imported goods worth US$23.25 billion during the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 21.4 percent compared with the corresponding period last year, the GDCE report said.
Cambodia’s major imports include refined petroleum, vehicles, electronics, medicines and supplements, consumables, and food and beverages.
