United States Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Aleks Zittle has reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to supporting Cambodia in delivering concrete outcomes under the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord.

During a recent visit to a relocation site for displaced families in Banteay Meanchey province, Ms. Zittle inspected progress on a U.S.-funded initiative implemented by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). The programme represents a tangible result of the peace agreement and aims to assist approximately 10,000 individuals in need.

Ms. Zittle highlighted that the United States is actively assisting families displaced by tension along the Cambodia-Thailand border. The relief efforts focus on fulfilling essential needs, including providing durable flooring, improved safety for sanitation facilities, and well-lit walkways for communities.

During her regional tour, the U.S. diplomat met with local families, village chiefs, and the governor of Banteay Meanchey province, all of whom pledged continued cooperation and support for the next phase of the assistance project.
