KP Phnom Penh, September 10, 2026 --

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin and H.E. Kim Vireak, Vice President and Secretary-General of Cambodia's National Committee for Disaster Management, handed over relief supplies provided by China to 300 flood-affected families in Thbong Khmum province on Thursday.

The aid, distributed in Tonle Bet commune in coordination with provincial authorities, included essential food items such as 10 kilogrammess of rice, soy sauce, fish sauce, and instant noodles, along with daily necessities including water containers, soap, and scoops.

In addition to family packages, the Chinese assistance provided emergency response equipment to the Thbong Khmum Provincial Administration. The equipment comprised two motorised rescue boats, two mobile toilets, 500 life jackets, 125 walkie-talkies, and 500 tents to strengthen local disaster response capabilities.

Officials noted that the joint distribution demonstrates the Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to disaster relief under Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, while highlighting the enduring friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between Cambodia and China in supporting flood-impacted communities.
