British Royal Navy Patrol Vessel HMS Tamar Visits Cambodia to Strengthen Naval Cooperation

British Royal Navy patrol vessel HMS Tamar (P233) is paying an eight-day visit to Cambodia aimed at strengthening friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the Cambodian and British navies.
The vessel, led by Commander Tom Lindsey, Royal Navy, Indo-Pacific region, docked at Ream Naval Base in Preah Sihanouk province on Aug. 20. It was welcomed by Rear Admiral In Sokhemara, Deputy Commander of Ream Naval Base, and other senior naval officers.
HMS Tamar is scheduled to remain at the Ream Naval Base until Aug. 27 as part of a visit to Cambodia to further promote friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries' naval forces.
The patrol vessel is 90 metres long, 13 metres wide and 4.3 metres in draught, with a displacement of 2,000 tonnes and a height of 33 metres. It carries a total crew of 61 personnel.
During their stay in Cambodia, the British naval delegation is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the Commander of Ream Naval Base, the Governor of Preah Sihanouk province and senior officials of the Ministry of National Defence.
The programme will also include joint training activities, first-aid exercises and friendly sports activities between the Cambodian and British naval forces, contributing to stronger ties and cooperation between the two sides.
