Royal Aid Distributed to Over 1,000 Displaced Families & Veterans in Oddar Meanchey

Royal humanitarian relief supplied by His Majesty the King of Cambodia has been distributed to 1,062 families, including displaced civilians, low-income residents under the LASED III project, and military veterans in Oddar Meanchey province on Aug. 18.
The distribution was led by H.E. You Lana, Second Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), acting on behalf of Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the CRC. The event took place in Srah Keo village, Pongro commune, Chongkal district, and brought together local leaders, relevant officials, and numerous residents.
H.E. Mean Chanyada, President of the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Red Cross Branch, stated that the recipients include families who were recently evacuated from border areas in Chongkal district, Banteay Ampil district, and Samrong city following Thai troops incursions.
H.E. Mean Chanyada, also Governor of Oddar Meanchey province, noted that the high-level attention and prompt assistance provided by the CRC President serve as vital support for provincial authorities, public servants, and armed forces as they carry out their duties to maintain security and safeguard territorial integrity.
Delivering royal greetings from the Cambodian Monarch, Mr. You Lana conveyed the King’s deep concern for the well-being and hardships of all citizens. He also shared health guidance on behalf of the CRC President, encouraging residents to maintain hygiene, avoid non-communicable diseases by reducing high-sugar and high-salt diets, prevent mosquito-borne illnesses such as dengue fever, and cultivate household gardens to supplement incomes.
Each of the 1,062 beneficiary families received a relief package containing 30 kilogrammes of rice, one carton of instant noodles, canned fish, soy sauce, fish sauce, cooking oil, detergent, a household kit (including a sarong, krama, mosquito net, and blanket), and cash support. Additionally, 230 water containers donated by philanthropists through the CRC were handed over to provincial authorities.
