Cambodian Leaders Congratulate Indonesia on 81st Independence Anniversary

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has extended his warm congratulations to Indonesian President H.E. Prabowo Subianto, the Government and people of Indonesia on the occasion of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence.
In a recent congratulatory message, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted Aug. 17, 1945 as a historic milestone in Indonesia’s history, embodying the country’s enduring spirit of unity, progress and national pride.
The Cambodian Prime Minister commended Indonesia’s remarkable achievements in nation-building over the past eight decades and expressed confidence that, under President H.E. Prabowo Subianto’s leadership, Indonesia would continue its strong development trajectory and achieve its aspiration of becoming a high-income country by 2045.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also reaffirmed Cambodia’s strong attachment to its long-standing friendship with Indonesia, stressing that bilateral relations have continued to flourish through regular exchanges and engagement at all levels.
Samech Thipadei reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with H.E. Prabowo to further deepen the partnership and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between Cambodia and Indonesia, with the aim of elevating bilateral relations to new heights.
At the same time, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn also sent a congratulatory message to his Indonesian counterpart H.E. Sugiono.
The Cambodian top diplomat underscored the strong and enduring friendship between Cambodia and Indonesia, noting that bilateral relations have been founded on longstanding ties, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation across a broad range of areas.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn also looked forward to the forthcoming official visit and the 6th Meeting of the Cambodia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), scheduled to be held in Indonesia from Sept. 2 to 3, 2026.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister said the upcoming visit and meeting would provide further impetus to the close relations and cooperation between the two countries, while reinforcing their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, prosperity and sustainable development within the ASEAN Community and beyond.
