Baphuon Temple Shines with Stunning Green-Season Beauty in Angkor
AKP Siem Reap, August 17, 2026 --
As the rainy season arrives, the historic landscape of the Angkor Archaeological Park takes on a fresh and vibrant appearance, with lush greenery transforming the ancient surroundings into a picturesque natural setting.
Among the many ancient temples, Baphuon Temple stands out during the green season for its remarkable beauty, offering visitors a peaceful and romantic atmosphere filled with the vitality of nature.
One of the highlights is the brilliant red blossoms of the fresh water mangroves (Barringtonia acutangula), which are now in full bloom. The scattered red flowers covering the clear water create a striking natural scene resembling a “red floral carpet” floating on the water, with the blossoms reflecting beautifully in the sunlight.
The picturesque scenery has attracted numerous visitors, particularly on weekends, with many tourists taking the opportunity to capture photographs of the seasonal beauty.
Walking across the long stone causeway towards Baphuon Temple during this period offers visitors more than an opportunity to appreciate the remarkable architectural achievements of the Khmer ancestors. It also allows them to enjoy fresh air and experience a natural landscape rarely found elsewhere.
Over the past weekend, large numbers of domestic tourists from different parts of the country were observed visiting the Angkor Archaeological Park to enjoy its beauty during the green season.
