AKP Phnom Penh, July 25, 2026 --

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in Cambodia's coastal provinces and mountainous regions, as Tropical Storm Noul (T2612) rapidly intensifies and strengthens the southwest monsoon.

According to the advisory issued on July 25, the weather conditions will affect the coastal provinces of Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep, as well as the Bokor, Cardamom, and Dangrek mountain ranges, from July 25 to 28.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to continue, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, which may increase the risk of flash flooding in vulnerable areas.

Sea conditions will also be hazardous, with strong waves reaching an average minimum height of 0.50 metres and an average maximum height of 1.75 metres, posing risks to fishermen, boat operators, and coastal travellers.

The Ministry urges the public and local authorities to exercise heightened caution and vigilance against the potential dangers of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

MOWRAM will continue to monitor and analyze the evolving weather situation and will issue further updates should conditions change significantly.
