Cambodia, Israel Agree to Further Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, June 23, 2026 --
Cambodia and Israel have agreed to continue expanding and deepening bilateral relations and cooperation across a range of priority sectors.
On Tuesday afternoon, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received H.E. Ms. Alona Fisher-Kamm, Ambassador of Israel to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok, for a courtesy call and working discussion at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Ambassador Fisher-Kamm spoke positively about the progress of Cambodia–Israel relations and cooperation, noting that bilateral engagement is moving in a positive direction and holds considerable potential for further growth.
The Ambassador highlighted demographic similarities between the two countries, particularly their relatively young populations, describing this as an important driver for expanding cooperation in additional sectors in the future.
She reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to strengthening existing areas of cooperation, including the continued acceptance of Cambodian agricultural students for internship programmes and further promoting labour cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The Ambassador also expressed interest in advancing collaboration in education, culture, and science.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated Ambassador Fisher-Kamm on her appointment as Israel’s Ambassador to Cambodia and expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral cooperation to date.
The Premier agreed on the importance of strengthening and broadening cooperation across additional sectors with strong potential and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s continued support for existing partnerships while encouraging greater connectivity and cooperation in emerging areas.
Both sides also discussed expanding collaboration in several key sectors, including trade and investment, agriculture and water resource management, education, technology, and healthcare, as well as promoting stronger private sector-to-private sector linkages between Cambodia and Israel.
