Cambodia Launches Trial Visa-Free Entry for Chinese Citizens Until Oct. 15
AKP Phnom Penh, June 15, 2026 --
Cambodia has officially launched a trial visa exemption programme for Chinese citizens starting today, June 15, and continuing through Oct. 15, 2026, as the country seeks to further strengthen tourism exchanges and welcome more visitors from China.
Relevant authorities have confirmed that preparations have been completed to provide a warm reception for Chinese visitors during the trial period.
Under the temporary arrangement, holders of passports issued by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) may enter Cambodia without applying for a visa. Eligible travellers will be permitted to stay for up to 14 days per visit and may enter and exit the country multiple times during the programme period.
Speaking in interviews with more than 11 Chinese media outlets in Cambodia and China, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, highlighted Cambodia’s readiness to receive Chinese tourists and emphasised the country’s hospitality.
He said Chinese visitors travelling to Cambodia would enjoy a warm and heartfelt welcome from the moment they arrive.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia received 331,199 Chinese visitors during the first four months of 2026, making China the largest source of international tourists to the Kingdom during the period.
The ministry noted that the figures reflect the strong potential of the Chinese tourism market and its growing importance to Cambodia’s tourism sector.
