Cambodia, UK Discuss Trade, Investment and Logistics Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, October 9, 2026 -- H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), received here on Oct. 8 a courtesy call from H.E. Dominic Williams, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Cambodia, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and logistics development.
The meeting was attended by CDC officials and representatives of the British Embassy in Cambodia.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on measures to further improve Cambodia’s trade and investment environment, including streamlining unnecessary administrative procedures, maximising the benefits of the United Kingdom’s trade preference scheme, promoting the development of Green Special Economic Zones (Green SEZs), and strengthening workforce capacity.
The discussions also focused on establishing a cooperation mechanism in Cambodia’s logistics sector, particularly in support of the implementation of the Comprehensive Intermodal Transport and Logistics System Master Plan 2023-2033.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation and further strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of Cambodia and the United Kingdom and their respective peoples.
