Cambodia’s Ambassador to Bulgaria emphasised the vital role of cultural diplomacy and humanitarian cooperation during a press conference on Wednesday at the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) headquarters, previewing the upcoming sixth edition of the Asian Festival.

Organised this year by the Indonesian Embassy in Bulgaria, the festival serves as a premier platform to showcase Asian culture, traditions, and tourism potential to the Bulgarian public and the wider international community. 

Speaking at the briefing, the Cambodian Ambassador H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo noted that this marks Cambodia's second participation under their leadership, underscoring how the event deepens mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation between Asian nations and Bulgaria.

"The Cambodian pavilion will showcase an array of cultural products and promotional materials reflecting Cambodia's rich history, heritage, and modern potential," the Ambassador stated. Visitors to the pavilion can experience traditional Cambodian desserts, coffee, and tea, and learn about the Krama – the hand-woven Khmer scarf that serves as a proud symbol of national identity.

Beyond celebrating heritage, the Kingdom's participation carries a strong philanthropic mission. The Ambassador announced that all proceeds generated from the sale of Cambodian products at the pavilion will be donated to a local Bulgarian foundation supporting children battling cancer.

"While this is a modest contribution, it is offered with deep love, solidarity, and a spirit of humanitarian compassion," the Ambassador said, concluding that such cultural exchanges and cooperation lay the crucial groundwork for enduring global peace and sustainable development.
