Acting Head of State Urges Officials to Safeguard National Stability and Improve Public Services

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on May 30 urged officials at all levels to continue safeguarding national stability and maintaining public order while enhancing public service delivery to citizens.
Speaking at a meeting with 775 members of provincial, city, district, commune, and Sangkat councils, as well as heads of provincial departments and units in Pursat province, Samdech Techo stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of the Safe Village-Commune Policy, including efforts to combat robbery, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and other offences.
He praised civil servants and local authorities in Pursat for their dedication to serving the people and maintaining peace, security, and social order. He also encouraged commune and Sangkat councils to continue providing essential public services in a timely and efficient manner.
Samdech Techo expressed strong support for strengthening tax and customs revenue collection and preventing tax evasion to ensure sufficient state revenue for national development. He also called on authorities to continue supporting the families of frontline soldiers, disabled veterans, fallen heroes, and former combatants.
The Acting Head of State reminded officials to avoid inactivity and abuse of authority, stressing that public servants are responsible for serving the people. He also urged local authorities to resolve land disputes quickly and fairly, particularly through out-of-court mechanisms, and to protect natural resources from destruction.
The meeting marked Samdech Techo’s tenth mission and the eleventh province and capital visited under his nationwide outreach programme with local leaders and civil servants aimed at strengthening accountability, improving local governance, and enhancing public service delivery.
According to Pursat Provincial Governor H.E. Khoy Rida, the province has achieved significant progress in infrastructure and economic development. Pursat currently hosts major energy projects, including hydropower plants and a 240-megawatt solar power station, with additional renewable energy projects under development.
The Governor added that the province is also home to several industrial facilities, including the Ford vehicle assembly plant, electronics factories, garment factories, and water treatment plants, which together provide employment for more than 15,800 workers.
