Cambodia Reaffirms Full Support for AOT to Ensure Ceasefire Implementation Along Border with Thailand

Cambodia has reaffirmed its full support for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
On Friday morning, Lt. Gen. Phat Vibolsopheak, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Politics and Foreign Affairs and Director of the International Relations Department, led the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia to attend the turnover ceremony for the AOT’s Head of Mission (HOM) in Cambodia.
According to the Ministry of National Defence, the ceremony was held at Team Site 2 (TS-2) in Serei Saophoan city, Banteay Meanchey province, where outgoing Acting Head of Mission Lt. Col. Mohd Amin Bin Baharom officially handed over his mandate to the incoming Head of Mission, Rear Admiral Glenn Z. Dizon of the Philippines.
On the occasion, Rear Admiral Glenn Z. Dizon reaffirmed his commitment to carrying out the mission actively and impartially, while continuing to observe, verify, and report on the actual situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
Cambodia reiterated its full support for the AOT and underscored the importance of strengthening the team’s role and mandate to ensure the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire and agreed measures between Cambodia and Thailand.
Cambodia also welcomed support from friendly nations in assisting the mission, with the aim of promoting transparency, accountability, and mutual trust among the parties concerned.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia further reaffirmed their firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully respect and faithfully implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated Oct. 26, 2025, as well as all other relevant agreements.
This commitment is aimed at ensuring a rapid recovery of normalcy and maintaining long-lasting peace and stability along the border areas.
