AKP Phnom Penh, April 28, 2026 --

The Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) officially launched on Monday a high-level training initiative for local tour operators.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, H.E. Huot Hak, H.E. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre, alongside senior government officials, international experts, and over 200 industry stakeholders at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence. 

H.E Minister highlighted that Cambodia has maintained political, security, and economic stability despite global challenges. 

He emphasised that this stability serves as a vital foundation for the tourism sector, positioning the country as a safe destination with convenient air and land connectivity.

Furthermore, H.E. Huot Hak noted that Cambodia is currently implementing several promotional campaigns, including the "Cambodia-China Tourism Year" and "Cambodia: Kingdom of Wonder—Feel the Warmth," to enhance the country’s profile and provide unique experiences for visitors.

To further attract international travellers, the Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with partners to diversify tourism products and organise major events, such as the Sea Festival, environment-focused tourism initiatives, and eco-tourism festivals.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the ASEAN-China Centre for its ongoing support in developing Cambodia’s tourism sector. 

This cooperation includes human resource training, organising FAM (Familiarisation) Trips for investors and promoters, and disseminating accurate information to build confidence among Chinese tourists.

During the trial visa exemption period from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, Chinese tourists are permitted to stay in Cambodia for up to 14 days without a visa, with the benefit of multiple entries and exits.
