Cambodian Army to Conduct Live-Fire Military Exercise in Pursat Province
AKP Phnom Penh, March 24, 2026 -- The Royal Cambodian Army has announced that a live-fire military exercise will be conducted in Pursat province as part of efforts to strengthen military capabilities in 2026.
According to a notice issued by the 5th Military Region, the exercise will take place from Mar. 24 to 25 in Srae Popeay village, Santre commune, Phnom Kravanh district, at the Hem Mountain training site.
The drill will involve the use of various weapons, including AK-47 assault rifles, PKM light machine guns, and B40 and B41 anti-tank launchers.
The public and local administrations in the area are urged not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire and explosions during the exercise period.
To ensure safety, local authorities have been requested to disseminate information about the exercise and to prevent residents from entering the designated training zone during the scheduled dates.
The Royal Cambodian Army expressed hope for the cooperation of the public and relevant authorities to ensure the successful and safe conduct of the exercise.
