AKP Kampong Speu, March 23, 2026 --
The Women's Working Group of the Party Committee of the General Secretariat of the National Assembly has presented gifts to some 100 orphans at the Orphan Training Centre in Phnom Sruoch district in Kampong Speu province.
Working Group Head Madame Nun Thavy said the visit on Saturday was the initiative of working group member Madame Cheam Chan Rasmey in collaboration with other members of the group and department heads.
She said the visit aimed to show care and affection for children at the centre, located in village 1, Traeng Trayueng commune.
“This serves as a way to reciprocate the children's good deeds for their sponsors,” she said, urging the orphans to study diligently, obey their teachers, read many books, and help with chores during their free time.
Madame Nun Thavy stressed that only knowledge would give them a bright and prosperous future and make them strong pillars of society.
Each child received a backpack (with four pencils, two blue pens, two red pens, a sharpener, a ruler, an eraser and a pen case) along with six books and 10,000 riel. The group also donated two million riel to the centre and 50 books for the library.
