Cambodian PM Returns Home from Successful Diplomatic Tour to U.S. and Europe
AKP Phnom Penh, February 26, 2026 -- Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, returned home safely after a nearly two-week-long diplomatic tour to the United States of America and Europe.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet was welcomed upon his arrival at Techo International Airport by Deputy Prime Ministers and many other senior officials.
Samdech Thipadei first attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace initiated by U.S. President Honorable Donald J. Trump, before continuing his trip to Switzerland and Belgium.
During the tour, Samdech Thipadei also conducted a media campaign with international media organisations, including Reuters, Fox News, and AFP, focusing on the border dispute with Thailand and the suppression of online scams, in order to provide the international community with a clear understanding of the real situation surrounding these issues.
These media interviews were subsequently shared by many media organisations worldwide.
In addition to attending the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace at the Donald J. Trump U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), Samdech Thipadei received courtesy calls and held discussions with Ambassador Jamieson Greer, United States Trade Representative; Honorable Christopher Landau, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State; H.E. General Jim Jones, Executive Chairman Emeritus of the Atlantic Council; and H.E. Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council; H.E. Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye; and Honorable Elbridge A. Colby, U.S. Under Secretary of War, among others.
In Switzerland, Samdech Thipadei held talks with H.E. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations; received a courtesy call and held discussions with H.E. Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights; had an informal discussion with H.E. José Ramos-Horta, President of Timor-Leste; and met with Mr. Gilles Carbonnier, Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In Belgium, Samdech Thipadei received courtesy calls and held discussions with H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission; H.E. Maxime Prévot, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium; H.E. Ms. Christel Schaldemose, Vice-President of the European Parliament; and held talks with H.E. António Costa, President of the European Council.
According to Royal Government Spokesperson H.E. Pen Bona, through the Prime Minister’s diplomatic tour, the international community has gained a clear understanding of Thailand’s military incursion into Cambodian territory and Cambodia’s firm commitment to resolving the border dispute through peaceful means.
