Cambodia’s Information Ministry Partners with Infinity Sport to Elevate Sports Journalism
AKP Phnom Penh, February 05, 2026 --
Cambodia’s Minister of Information, H.E. Neth Pheaktra, has pledged the ministry's full support and technical cooperation with Infinity Sport to enhance the professional standards of sports reporting, photography, and commentary across the Kingdom.
During a high-level meeting Thursday at the Ministry of Information, Minister Pheaktra met with S.T. Arasu, Director of Infinity Sport, to discuss a strategic initiative aimed at equipping local journalists with specialised skills tailored to diverse sporting disciplines.
The partnership centres on a series of upcoming workshops designed to improve the accuracy and depth of sports coverage.
The Minister emphasised that clear understanding of specific sports rules and nuances is essential for journalists to provide comprehensive, high-quality reporting for both domestic and international audiences.
"We support this initiative to ensure that our writers, photographers, and commentators are well-versed in the specifics of each sport," he said. "This expertise is vital for delivering accurate information and engaging narratives during major sporting events."
Mr. Arasu, representing the 2024-founded sports management firm, outlined the company’s 2026 roadmap, which prioritises journalist capacity building. He noted that the training sessions would be led by industry veterans, including award-winning experts from Malaysia’s The Star with over a decade of experience in the field.
The Ministry of Information will collaborate closely with Infinity Sport to facilitate these workshops, marking a significant step toward professionalising the nation’s sports media landscape as Cambodia continues to expand its footprint in regional athletics.
