Republic of Türkiye continues to support rural development and human capacity building efforts of Cambodia through income generating, employment creating and skill developing projects of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, TİKA.
Last week three TİKA projects were officially inaugurated by TİKA representatives and the Turkish Ambassador H.E. Ms. Ülkü Kocaefe, together with local cooperation partners.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Cambodia, “Project on Empowering Agricultural Cooperatives through Sustainable Cashew Nut Processing in Cambodia” in Kampong Cham province is TİKA’s second project that provides technical equipment to agricultural cooperatives for cashew production, processing and packaging. Financed by TİKA, this project is conducted by CİWODA and Speu Agricultural Cooperative.
The second project aiming to support Cambodia’s rural development financed by TİKA, implemented in cooperation with CIWODA is “Building Sustainable Income for Women in Cambodia through Swiftlets Nest Farming” in Kampong Thom.
The third project recently officially inaugurated is the “Model Bakery and Pastry Classroom at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation”. This project aiming to contribute to Cambodia’s human capacity building efforts will provide young Cambodians with greater opportunities to develop their skills and to embark on a career.
Expressing that Türkiye is a proud development partner of the Kingdom, Ambassador Kocaefe said that Türkiye considers its development cooperation with Cambodia as one of the main pillars of their relations, while it touches the lives of the ordinary people and the most vulnerably segments of the Cambodian society and help Cambodian people build a better future for themselves.
“As Türkiye, our goal is to support Cambodia where you need our assistance the most. Therefore, it is important for us that TİKA projects are in line with the policy priorities of the Royal Government, namely the Pentagonal Strategy,” she said. “This is a gift from the heart of the Turkish people to the Cambodian people as token of our friendship, respect and cooperation.”
