Cambodian Red Cross President Dispatches Aid to Ailing Father of Border Soldier
AKP Phnom Penh, January 13, 2026 --
Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), dispatched a senior delegation on Tuesday to provide emergency financial and material assistance to the critically ill father of a frontline soldier stationed at the Preah Vihear border.
Acting on behalf of the CRC President, H.E. Huon Chanbora, Director of the Communications Department, visited 62-year-old Phon Sangha’s father in Samaky Meanchey district, Kampong Speu province.
The patient has been suffering from a debilitating stroke that has left him partially paralysed for the past six months.
The CRC delegation delivered a cash grant of 5 million Riels (approximately US$1,250) alongside essential food supplies and household goods to support the family’s immediate needs.
The patient’s son, Phon Sangha, is currently deployed with the Air Defence Battalion of Division 3 in Preah Vihear province. Due to his ongoing military duties in defending the nation’s territorial integrity, he has been unable to provide direct care for his father.
His wife and two children currently reside in a shelter in Preah Vihear.
