Cambodia’s Exports to RCEP Hit New Record High
AKP Phnom Penh, January 10, 2026 —
Cambodia exported goods worth US$9.8 billion to countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in 2025, marking a 7 percent year-on-year increase, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce.
The Kingdom’s total trade volume with RCEP countries reached US$40.2 billion last year, accounting for 61.68 percent of Cambodia’s total trade volume of US$65.24 billion, the report stated.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Commerce’s annual meeting on Jan. 9, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, said Cambodia’s trade performance in 2025 remained strong despite global economic uncertainty caused by geopolitical tensions, fragmentation of global trade, and regional border disputes.
Noting that RCEP is a key market for Cambodia, the Minister emphasised the Ministry of Commerce’s continued efforts to work closely with relevant institutions to advance regional and global economic integration, as well as to diversify export and import markets.
The RCEP Free Trade Agreement, which entered into force on Jan. 1, 2022, comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries, including ten ASEAN Member States and their five trading partners: China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Ministry of Commerce has also encouraged the private sector to fully utilise the benefits of RCEP to help offset the potential loss of other trade preferences.
The Ministry continues to implement strategies aimed at strengthening existing markets and expanding into new ones, while upholding multilateralism based on the principles of rule of law and open markets that allow flexibility, the Minister added.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia’s total international trade volume in 2025 reached US$65.24 billion, representing an approximately 18 percent increase compared to 2024.
