Cambodian Envoy to South Korea Pledges Support for "One Village One Product" Export Drive

Cambodia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, met with a high-level trade delegation on Friday to discuss expanding the presence of Cambodian goods in South Korean markets and strengthening bilateral industrial ties.
The delegation, led by H.E. Phal Sokcheat, Secretary General of the National Committee for the Promotion of One Village One Product (OVOP), included representatives from private firms DCON, Baray Global Management, and Barimex.
During the meeting, H.E. Phal Sokcheat outlined the primary objectives of the mission to South Korea, which include: Assessing the specific demands of South Korean consumers for Cambodian products; Identifying and addressing technical barriers and challenges currently hindering Cambodian exports; and Strengthening the export pipeline for high-potential Cambodian agricultural goods.
Beyond export promotion, the delegation engaged with several South Korean companies to explore importing Korean products into Cambodia.
Discussions focused on technology transfer and the potential establishment of manufacturing plants within Cambodia to meet local market needs.
Ambassador Rattanak welcomed the mission's progress, emphasising the embassy's readiness to collaborate with the OVOP National Committee.
"We are committed to facilitating the entry of Cambodian products into the Korean market," the Ambassador said, expressing optimism that more "Made in Cambodia" goods will be available to South Korean consumers in the near future.
