Clinical Practice Guidelines Officially Launched
AKP Phnom Penh, January 09, 2026 -- Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Prof. Cheang Ra on Jan. 8 presided over the official launch of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs): General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and Dentistry, aimed at promoting quality, safe, and equitable health services for all patients.
The CPGs are designed to support comprehensive health system reforms by providing operational guidelines and action packages for the development of referral hospitals, strengthening the national referral system policy, and promoting hospital accreditation standards.
According to the Ministry of Health, the CPGs will also enhance governance to ensure higher quality care and continuous improvement, with the ultimate goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage in line with Royal Government policies and national health strategic plans.
H.E. Prof. Cheang Ra said the official launch marks a significant milestone in ensuring that all patients have access to evidence-based and people-centred care, adding that effective medical practice depends on informed human resource decisions supported by clear and consistent clinical standards.
