Cambodia’s tourism sector remains resilient and highly competitive within the region, marked by confidence, strategic adaptability, and strong vigilance amid a rapidly evolving and uncertain global and regional landscape.

This was stated by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), during the CTB’s annual meeting held yesterday in Phnom Penh.

The minister added that, in line with the “Dynamic Single Stakeholder” approach and the six strategic pillars of tourism development, all stakeholders have been striving to fulfill their respective roles with a proactive, active, and interactive spirit to maintain the resilience of Cambodia’s tourism sector in the face of ongoing challenges.

H.E. Huot Hak further emphasised that the current context – characterised by faster-than-expected changes, lingering global economic risks, persistent geopolitical tensions, and violations of Cambodia’s territorial sovereignty by Thai military forces – requires the participation of all sectors and levels. He stressed the importance of solidarity and unity under the leadership of the Royal Government to further strengthen capacity, resilience, and national ownership.

In this regard, the Cambodia Tourism Board has outlined strategic plans, key measures, and practical actions for 2026. These initiatives aim to sustain the sector’s resilience while accelerating momentum to ensure strong regional competitiveness through confidence, creativity, adaptability, and vigilance.
