First Lady Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet Pays Final Respects to Fallen Soldier in Kampong Speu
AKP Phnom Penh, January 03, 2025 — Cambodia’s First Lady, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, on Saturday attended the funeral of a fallen soldier, honouring a man described as a dedicated patriot who sacrificed his life in the line of duty.
Visiting the bereaved family at their home in Kampong Speu province, Dr. Pich Chanmony paid her final respects during a traditional ceremony. The event marked a moment of national mourning for a soldier remembered not only as a vital military asset but also as a devoted husband, father, and brother.
During her visit, the First Lady extended the deepest condolences on behalf of the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and the Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittipritthpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
"This is a profound loss for the nation and the family," a representative noted, highlighting the soldier’s ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.
In addition to her presence, Dr. Pich Chanmony delivered a humanitarian gift from the Prime Minister and herself to the grieving family to assist with daily living expenses and funeral costs.
