Religious Leaders Call for Immediate Cessation of Thai Aggression
AKP Phnom Penh, December 25, 2025 --
Religious Leaders of all sects in Cambodia have issued a strongly worded statement, condemning “the invasion by the Thai armed forces against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Cambodia.”
In a joint statement published on Dec. 25, the leaders and followers/believers of all religious sects in the Kingdom of Cambodia informed the leaders and followers/believers of all religious denominations around the world about the two instances of unprovoked, unjustified, and unlawful armed invasions by the Thai military into the Kingdom of Cambodia, the first from July 24 to 28, 2025; and the second from Dec. 7, 2025, which has continued unabated.
“On behalf of the leaders and followers/believers of all religious sects in the Kingdom of Cambodia, we call on the leaders and followers/believers of all religious denominations around the world to join us in calling on the Thai side to immediately stops all aggressive invasions that threaten peace and stability in the region and to firmly and sincerely abide by the Joint Declaration on Peace Agreement, and all obligations under international laws with true goodwill,” read the statement.
Cambodia remains firmly committed to peaceful dialogue through diplomatic channels and in accordance with international law, added the statement.
