Cambodia, Thailand Start GBC Secretariat Meeting
AKP Phnom Penh, December 24, 2025 --
The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand kicked off this afternoon, said H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence.
This meeting began at 16:30, in Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, between Pailin province, Cambodia and Chanthaburi province, Thailand.
In this meeting, both parties will discuss and exchange documents to prepare for the upcoming 3rd Special GBC Meeting, scheduled to be held on Dec. 27, 2025, to ensure the cessation of hostilities and find solutions to restore stability between the two countries, as well as to facilitate a swift return to normalcy.
The Cambodian delegation was led by Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, and the Thai delegation was headed by Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat.
This meeting is scheduled from Dec. 24 to 26, 2025, under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) of Cambodia and Thailand.
