Civilian Death Toll Reaches 19 Amid Thailand’s Continued Hostilities

The number of civilians killed by brutal and indiscriminate Thai attacks has risen to 19, including an infant, while the number of injured has increased to 79 as of Dec. 20.
The figures were announced by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence, during a press briefing held this morning.
She said civilian areas continue to be targeted as Thai military aggression enters its 15th day. According to the spokeswoman, Thai forces have deployed heavy weaponry, F-16, cluster munitions, toxic gas, and advanced drones, actions she described as a direct assault on innocent civilians as well as World Cultural Heritage sites.
In response, Cambodian forces will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain strong, brave, and steadfast in carrying out their duties to safeguard Cambodia’s territorial integrity, she added.
The spokeswoman further underlined that Cambodian forces will defend the nation’s dignity with courage and unwavering resolve, and will not succumb to coercion or intimidation in any form.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior reported that as of the evening of Dec. 20, 2025, a total of 512,099 people—among them approximately 266,946 women and nearly 162,580 children—have been displaced and forced to flee their homes to seek safety.
