Cambodia Welcomes Proposed Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Cambodia-Thailand Border

Cambodia has welcomed the proposed Special Meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers to discuss border issues between Cambodia and Thailand, which will be hosted by Malaysia, said H.E. Nong Sakal, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
“We welcome Malaysia as the host of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to discuss the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand,” he said.
According to the spokesperson, the meeting was initially scheduled for Dec. 16, 2025, but at Thailand’s request, it has been rescheduled to Dec. 22, 2025.
Cambodia looks forward to this important meeting and hopes it will yield positive and constructive outcomes toward easing tensions and promoting peace.
Dec. 17 marks the 11th day since Thai forces resumed aggressive military operations against Cambodia, resulting in 17 Cambodian civilian deaths, 77 injuries, and nearly 450,000 people displaced.
