Cambodian NA President Sends Condolence Message to American Counterpart
AKP Phnom Penh, December 16, 2025 -- The President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, has extended her condolences to Honorable Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, regarding the severe flooding in the Pacific Northwest.
“I am deeply grieved by the news about the current natural disaster of severe flooding in the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America, which caused the displacement of thousands of families, enormous devastation of properties and closure of more than 30 highways across the state,” she wrote in her message dated Dec. 15.
“On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Honorable Speaker, and through you, to the victims of the families severely affected by this natural disaster,” she stated.
Samdech Khuon Sudary concluded her message by reaffirming Cambodia’s solidarity with the American people and government during this difficult time, and by wishing all the victims and affected communities a swift recovery and resumption of normal life.
