Westerdam Cruise Brings Nearly 2,000 Tourists to Cambodia's Coast

The Holland-flagged cruise ship Westerdam docked at the Autonomous Port of Preah Sihanouk early Monday, disembarking nearly 2,000 international visitors for a one-day tour, according to Cambodian port authorities.
The arrival underscores Cambodia’s increasing prominence as a cruise tourism destination and signals continued confidence in the nation's port infrastructure and security protocols.
Immigration officials at the Preah Sihanouk International Port reported that the vessel, which measures 285.22 metres long, 32.20 metres wide, and has a draft of 8.10 metres, arrived at 6:50 a.m. local time, having sailed from a Vietnamese port.
The Westerdam carried 1,877 passengers from 43 different nationalities, alongside a crew of approximately 800 from 40 nationalities. The largest contingents of tourists were from the United States (824) and Australia (299). Additionally, 21 passengers, embarked in Siem Reap before the ship's final leg to the coast.
During their brief stay, the tourists explored a variety of attractions across Preah Sihanouk province.
Provincial authorities confirmed that the Preah Sihanouk administration extended a warm welcome to the visitors. Coordinated security and logistical support were deployed by law enforcement agencies and local authorities to ensure safe and smooth operations throughout the day.
The ship is scheduled to depart Preah Sihanouk at 8:00 p.m., with its next destination being a port in Thailand.
