AKP Phnom Penh, December 11, 2025 --

The Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia has strongly rejected a report published on The Nation Thailand’s Facebook page and by some other Thai media outlets alleging that Cambodia deployed foreign mercenaries to operate suicide drones when Thai forces conducts their aggressive military attack on Cambodia's territory and integrity.

In an official statement, the Ministry condemned the allegation as “false, fabricated, and deliberately intended to malign Cambodia.” It stressed that the report had no factual basis and was part of an intentional disinformation campaign.

According to the Ministry, the spread of such misinformation serves only to divert attention from what it describes as Thailand’s violations of international law. 

The statement further claimed that the false narrative aims to portray Cambodia negatively, thereby providing justification for the use of “more brutal weapons” against Cambodian forces.

Cambodia called on the Thai side to immediately stop disseminating information it considers misleading and harmful to bilateral relations.
