Displaced Population Nears 200,000 as Thai Forces Continue Attacks on Cambodia

The number of civilians displaced by continued Thai military attacks on Cambodian territory has risen to nearly 200,000 people, representing more than 57,000 families, according to official data released this morning by the Ministry of Interior.
The displaced families originate from the provinces of Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, and Koh Kong.
According to the report, 22,390 people are currently seeking refuge in Preah Vihear; 39,945 in Oddar Meanchey; 80,447 in Banteay Meanchey; 6,914 in Battambang; 3,221 in Pursat; and 310 in Koh Kong.
Additionally, Siem Reap province is providing temporary shelter to 44,527 displaced civilians.
This morning, the Ministry of National Defence confirmed that Thai forces continued their attacks on Cambodian sovereignty at different locations, including at the O’Phluok Damrey area in Pursat province.
Cambodian forces have been responding firmly and decisively to uphold and protect the nation’s territorial integrity.
