UNICEF Visits and Delivers Aid to Displaced Cambodian Civilians
AKP Phnom Penh, December 10, 2025 -- UNICEF is on the ground today visiting two displacement sites and delivering humanitarian assistance to children and families forced to flee the recent conflict along the border.
According to UNICEF Cambodia, the organisation provided water, sanitation and hygiene kits, as well as education and recreational materials for affected children.
As of Dec. 10, the source added, nearly 130,000 people, including children, are now displaced and the need for safety and basic essentials is urgent. More supplies are underway to respond to rising needs.
“Children carry the heaviest burden in any conflict. UNICEF calls for peace and protection for every child. If you can, support our urgent appeal so we can deliver essential support to every affected child. Donate via: https://help.unicef.org/cambodia-appeal,” the agency said.
Figures from the Ministry of National Defence indicate that more than 36,000 families – approximately 130,000 people – have sought refuge at safe centres across six provinces: Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Battambang, and Siem Reap. This follows continued Thai military attacks on Cambodian territory.
