AKP Phnom Penh, December 09, 2025 --  

H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has conducted a briefing on the recent outbreak of armed offensive along the Cambodia-Thai border to member of diplomatic corps and international organisations accredited to Cambodia. 

The briefing took place at the Ministry this morning. Heads of Cambodian Missions overseas, and ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) also attended the event online. 

The Permanent Secretary of State apprised the participants of the chain of events leading up to Thailand's offensive against Cambodia, starting from the afternoon of Dec. 7, 2025. 

She emphasised Cambodia’s deep appreciation for the presence of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) and the AOT in verifying Cambodia’s sincerity and commitment to the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration. 

She expressed gratitude to all friends for expressing support for the peaceful settlement of disputes and called for full respect for the ceasefire and the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration.
