Cambodia Briefs Foreign Diplomatic Corps on Thai Military’s Brutal Attacks
AKP Phnom Penh, December 09, 2025 --
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia (MFAIC) has convened an urgent diplomatic briefing with 30 diplomatic corps and 3 international organisations, including representatives from the United Nations, on the Thai Forces’ acts of aggression.
During the meeting held at the MFAIC this morning, the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Military Regions 4 and 5 was presented.
The acts of military aggression undertaken by the Thai military forces violated the ceasefire and the Joint Declaration signed between Cambodia and Thailand. Starting from Dec. 7, 2025, until today, the attack has been ongoing for three days now.
On the occasion, H.E. Lt. Gen. Rath Dararoth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, also provided a detailed briefing on the current situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border in the presentation.
Moreover, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of the Ministry of Defence facilitated the ASEAN Observation Team (AOT) to participate in the briefing via the Zoom platform.
In the presentation, the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm stance and commitment to respecting and implementing the Ceasefire and the Joint Declaration between Cambodia and Thailand, as well as all agreements previously reached by both parties with the highest sense of responsibility and goodwill.
Rather than resorting to acts of aggression or the use of force, Cambodia firmly adheres to resolving disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law, the existing treaties, conventions and agreements, so as to seek solution that is just, fair, long-lasting, and in compliance with the international law.
In this regard, Cambodia calls on Thailand to turn to honour the Ceasefire Agreement and the Joint Declaration between Cambodia-Thailand, signed on Oct. 26, 2025, with the auspicious witness of the U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister, H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, in his capacity as the ASEAN rotating Chair.
