Cambodian PM Reaffirms Government’s Support for Writers

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has issued a message marking the 2025 National Writers’ Day, celebrated on Sunday.
In his message, released recently, Samdech Thipadei extended his warm congratulations to all writers, poets, and literary creators across the country on the 2025 National Writers’ Day under the theme “Writers: Ambassadors of Conscience in Preserving and Developing Culture for Peace.”
The Premier highlighted the vital role of writers as guardians of national identity, history, and cultural heritage. He referred to them as “artists of the spirit,” whose works preserve Cambodia’s past, protect its cultural identity, and spread knowledge and fresh ideas throughout society.
Samdech Thipadei also called on the public and the literary community to actively participate in the 2025 National Writers’ Day celebrations to honour those who shape and safeguard the nation’s cultural legacy.
He further encouraged continued support for authors and poets, noting that their creativity and dedication contribute significantly to promoting unity and peace in the country.
The Prime Minister stressed that National Writers’ Day serves not only as a celebration of literary achievements but also as a reaffirmation of the importance of culture, identity, and creative expression to Cambodia’s social and spiritual fabric.
In conclusion, Samdech Thipadei reminded writers to remain at the forefront of preserving collective memory, nurturing national pride, and inspiring future generations through their words.
